The time is right for a blackberry cobbler with ice cream!  Developed from a family recipe, my father's favorite fruit cobbler should be served warm.  There's nothing like a warm bowl of black berry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.  Just follow our easy and quick recipe:

1. In an 8x8 baking pan evenly spread either a can of Comstock black berry pie filling, canned blackberries, or prepare your own fresh black berry filling.

2. Combine black berry cobbler mix, 1 cup of milk and mix well.  Pour batter over blackberries.

3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 30 minutes and serve. Delicious!

How to make a Blackberry Cobbler with Fresh Blackberries:

Make a fresh blackberry pie filling. Combine the following ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook down until tender and thickened.

4-6 cups of chopped, ripe blackberries
1-2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup brown or white sugar
Lemon zest
Pinch of salt
1/2 - 2 teaspoons of spices, if desired
1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Pour blackberry pie filling  in a greased 8x8 baking dish and then prepare cobbler mix and pour over the top.
